What a Day of Wedding Coordinator Does, and What One Does Not
A day of wedding coordinator is the person who runs your wedding day so that you, your parents and your friends do not have to. They build the timeline, check in with your vendors, get everyone to the right place at the right time, and handle whatever goes sideways. They are not your planner, and that difference matters more than most couples expect.

What does a day of wedding coordinator actually do?
Here is the plain version of what we do at Augusta Day of Coordination. Our service covers these things:
Building your wedding day timeline, so every vendor and every family member works from one schedule
Confirming and following up with your vendors before the wedding
Making sure everyone knows where to be and when
Running the rehearsal lineup and the ceremony cues
Running the wedding day itself, so you and your families do not have to
On the day, we are the point of contact for your vendors. When the florist cannot find the loading area or the DJ needs an answer about the grand entrance, they ask us instead of you. We handle the problems that come up, and yes, we carry and move things. Weddings involve more lifting than anyone plans for.
What this job is not
This is where couples get tangled up, so here it is plainly. Day of coordination is not full wedding planning. We do not choose your venue, design your decor, or book your vendors for you. You make those decisions yourselves, or you hire a planner to make them with you. What we do is take the plan you have built and run it.
If your venue, caterer and photographer are not booked yet, you are earlier in the process than we are. That is perfectly normal. It just means the planning comes first, and a day of wedding coordinator joins once there is a plan to run.
When does the work start?
The name makes it sound as though the work begins on the wedding morning. It really starts two to four weeks before the wedding. That is when the timeline gets built, when your vendors hear from us, and when the small unanswered questions finally get answers. Who takes the gifts and cards home at the end of the night? Who tells the DJ the cake is ready? Who carries the marriage license? Those are easy questions to settle on a calm Tuesday and hard ones to settle in the middle of a reception.
When the day arrives, your vendors have already heard from us, and your families already have a schedule in hand.
Why do we work as two coordinators?
Augusta Day of Coordination is Nick and Jasmine, a male and a female coordinator working together. We think couples get the best of both worlds. Between the two of them you have someone who gets people to the right place and helps direct the ceremony, someone who can lift the big, heavy things, and someone who can calm you down in a crisis. It sets the tone for the day.
Our team includes the CSRA's only male wedding coordinator, and Nick is also an officiant with our sister business, Augusta Officiant. Coordination can be combined with officiating, so the person leading your ceremony and the people running your timeline work from the same plan.
Who is behind the team?
We are veteran owned, family run, and a foster family. We have coordinated weddings for the past four years, and as officiants our team has married more than 1,200 couples across the CSRA. Our home base is Augusta, Evans, Grovetown, Martinez, Hephzibah, Harlem, Appling, North Augusta and Aiken, plus nearby Thomson and Waynesboro. Military couples from Fort Eisenhower (formerly Fort Gordon) are a big part of our work, and our team speaks both English and Spanish.
We hold a business license and $2 million in liability insurance, and many Augusta area venues now ask wedding vendors for proof of both. You can read our 5 star reviews on Google, browse the photos in our gallery, or find out more about the team.
Common questions about the job
Is a day of wedding coordinator the same as a wedding planner?
No. A planner helps with the long stretch before the wedding, which usually means things like choosing the venue, building the budget and finding vendors. A day of wedding coordinator picks up the plan near the end and runs it. Ours is a day of coordination service, not full planning.
Do I still have to deal with my vendors?
You choose and book them. After that, we confirm and follow up with each one, and on the wedding day they bring their questions to us instead of to you.
Do you coordinate weddings outside Augusta?
Our home base is the CSRA, which covers the towns listed above on both sides of the Savannah River. For anywhere farther, ask us.
